As part of the World Glaucoma Week 2025 observance, The Department of Pharmacy Practice, K.T.N College of Pharmacy organized a specialized session on March 10, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 am emphasizing the critical importance of early detection and management of glaucoma. The session featured Dr. S. Chaitra, MBBS, MS, FPR, a distinguished specialist from Valluvanad Hospital, Ottapalam, who shared her extensive expertise with an attentive audience comprising second-year and fifth-year Pharm D students, as well as interns. The program commenced with an insightful introduction of Dr. Chaitra by Dr. Nisha Joy, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, highlighting the speaker’s notable contributions to ophthalmology. Dr. Chaitra’s lecture delved into the
nuances of glaucoma, underscoring the imperative of regular eye examinations for early detection and the latest advancements in treatment modalities. The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and the presentation of a token of appreciation to Dr. Chaitra by Dr. S. Rajarajan, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, reflecting the department’s commitment to fostering professional development and enhancing awareness about glaucoma among future healthcare professionals.
