The Department of Pharmacy Practice organized an expert talk on “AI tools in Pharmacy Practice” on 28th July 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the evolving role of artificial intelligence in pharmacy
and its implications for the future of healthcare delivery.
The program began with a warm welcome address by Dr. KSG Arulkumaran, Principal, KTN College of Pharmacy. He emphasized the significance of integrating digital advancements into pharmacy education and practice, especially in the current healthcare landscape.
Following the welcome, Ms. Shahana Safa MP, second-year PharmD student from the 2023 batch, introduced the guest speaker with a brief overview of his academic and professional accomplishments.
The expert talk was delivered by Dr. K. Karthickeyan, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies, Pallavar, Chennai. His engaging session covered various dimensions of artificial intelligence in pharmacy including AI-driven drug discovery and development, personalized medicine, patient monitoring tools, and the integration of AI in clinical decision support systems. He also discussed ethical and practical challenges and concerns in implementing AI in real-world pharmacy settings.
The talk was well-received by the audience, and the interactive nature of the session helped clarify doubts and encouraged meaningful discussions among students and faculty members.
The session concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. S. Rajarajan, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, KTN College of Pharmacy. He expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished speaker, the organizing team, and all participants for contributing to the success of the program.
